I posted this message over at the Island Pond Forums, so if you frequent there, this may look familar :)

Hello, my name is Jim and I am a student at Lyndon State College. I am doing a paper about online forums for my Media Communications class. A requirement for this paper is that is had to pertain to the local area. And somehow I came across this lovely forum! So, I would love to ask some questions so I can get to writing this paper

First of all, I'd like to talk with the creator of this great website.

And to start the general questioning; Why is it that you visit and/or contribute to this online forum?

Thank you!
Jim

I joined this forum because it is an excellent place to get up-to-date information on the snowmobiling conditions in the Island Pond area. I contribute to the site by posting my comments and observations in an effort to add value to the information that people come, and expect to find here.

I really like your reply. I think you have a great outlook an what this forum is trying to accomplish, and it great that you are doing your part.

Another question for anyone; Do you feel that the forum could be more active (more people contributing) but parts the community hasn't grasped the idea yet?

It has been my experience that th eforum does in fact become more active once the snowmobile season is officially open and there is snow on the ground, which is typically right after Christmas or New Year. Good Luck with your studies!

Well that's kinda of interesting because I quickly talked to Jake Marsh, and he had the same feelings about this forum.

So its safe to say that this online community is primarily snowmobilers? They are the biggest contributing members?

For those of you who are here for the snowmobling news and gossip, do you find yourself participating else where on the forums?
