Trail Report #6 Winter 2012-2013
There has been some snow this week past week but that got clobbered by warm termperatures and some rain. The trails had been holding up well with the temperature fluctuation although the snow has settled. There is a good base. Please keep in mind that the trails hold up much better if you keep your speed down. The weather forecast is for the warm weather to cool on Thursday and snow showers overnight into Friday. Our groomer operators are ready to hit the trials once the weather changes. Riders should be careful because water bars, stumps, and rocks are close to the trail surface.

Reminder that VAST has new signage rules for this year. The change involves fewer signs making each one more important than before. There are “Slow” signs which mean just that SLOW DOWN. There is a reason for the sign and everyone should be paying attention otherwise you may find out - up close - what the caution is about.
Note that several trails to the north of our area are closed. Check the VAST web site for more information. Route 1 is closed from EX 52 to EX 522.
