Trail Report #8 Winter 2013-2014

Trail conditions have changed recently with the dumping of snow from the lastest nor’easter. Despite the fact that we have new snow and cold temperatures getting the groomer out and around all the trails through deep snow presents its own problems. Plus we had a mechanical failure which has delayed grooming some of our trails until at least Saturday. Grooming operations will resume as soon as repairs are complete. If riders can keep their speed down then the trails will last longer and more people can enjoy them.

The logging operation at EX-42 South America Pond Rd has ended. However at EX-42 VAST Rte 102 crosses this road although we won’t be grooming EX 343 until the logging job is complete. The junction EX-401 has moved down the hill a bit. There is a logging operation on the F-2 trail at it heads into Guildhall village from the north. Every effort has been made to keep the snowmobile trail separate for this logging operation. There is road sharing on the old railroad bed up to EX-541.
