Trail Report #3 Winter 2017-2018

Our groomer is down and has a serious engine problem requiring it to be trucked to an engine repair garage. The engine has been torn down and replacement parts ordered and except for one gasket it is on the way to rebuilding. Fortunately, the Lunenburg Polar Bears and groomer operator Dana have come to our rescue. Dana has groomed most of our trails. The warm weather and rain earlier in the week have reduced the snow depth and caused some trails to be icy and yet there are some slushy areas as well. There was some light snow (1 to 2 inches) and that helps with lubrication and cooling. However the snow cover and the warmer temperatures forecast are not helpful. Hopefully we’ll have our groomer back on line by early next week.
