Trail Report #5 Winter 2017-2018

The warm weather last week took its toll on our trails. The addition of rain was not helpful. All of the corners are now icy. The powerline is ice with patches of gravel. French Hill on the Rte 102 trail has very little snow cover and the top of the hill near EX 50 is mostly icy. There is very little snow on trails for lubrication and cooling. Some of the trails on the logging roads are in better shape but connecting to other trails that are passable is difficult. As always, use caution on trails. Conditions change quickly and unpredictably.

A logging operation is occurring on a short section of Trail 3 between EX524 and EX521 and will last all winter long. It is clearly marked.
