Trail Report #1 Winter 2020-2021

TRAILS REMAIN CLOSED AT THIS TIME! Groomers are not allowed on the trails until opening day either and therefore trails will not be groomed during the early hours of opening day. However, there is no snow the northeast kingdom. We experienced a long warm spell last week that melted all the snow and even at that, the ground below it was not frozen. Snow doesn’t last on thawed ground. The week has been a whole different story. At this time, it is 12 degrees and has been that way for two days now. It will provide a good base once the snow finally arrives (and it will). The snow forecast for Dec 17-18 will not make it as far north as the northeast kingdom. We’ll have to see what occurs later.
Just a note that the Route 1 trail has a reroute in the area of EX 523. A new section of the trail has been constructed and appropriate signage has been set out. Please use caution in this area.
