Trail Report #2 Winter 2018-2019

Happy New Year to everyone. Our season that got off to a booming start followed by a dramatic down turn – remind anyone of the stock market as of late – has been making a slow recovery in some areas. The valley locations have little snow but the upper elevations are seeing some snow cover although there is a lot of icy conditions. Several streams remain open and there are some open water courses crossing our trails. If you ride, these water crossings come up quickly and most are quite deep! Keep your speed down and be prepared for sudden changes in the trails. Trails in the woods are a challenge with rocks and stumps barely covered. In fact the trail may look like it has plenty of snow until you smack one of the hidden objects. Keeping speed down and being under control is of utmost importance. There is some snow in the forecast although no major storms are in the forecast. It doesn’t look like we’re going to build our snow base quickly at this rate.

A logging operation is occurring on the Paul Stream Road and therefore the road is plowed.
